STAPLE PRODUCTS
Final project - Bezalel Academy Of Art And Design
New approaches to staple consumer products.
Ive explored new perspectives on everyday consumer goods. This project delves into simple products, suggesting innovative yet subtle alterations that could significantly enhance their final quality. These solutions, while not drastic or costly, hold the potential to profoundly improve the products during production. Each design considers cultural, economic, and functional aspects, aiming to empower these local iconic items.

1 Flour Package
After touring the flour factory and seeing the production line in person, I discovered a way to improve the paper packaging. By altering its layout, a built-in funnel can be created, greatly enhancing the convenience of pouring flour compared to the current design.
2 Bread Sticker
This controlled price bread is sold without packaging, to make it affordable for disadvantaged populations. I replaced the original sticker with a folding sticker, creating a larger surface area - making it possible to add the bread’s nutritional value.
This collaboration was done with Berman, Israel's oldest commercial bakery.

3 Milk Bag Package
The milk bag is an easily recognizable visual icon in Israeli culture. The product needs a pitcher for proper usage. I altered the original layout of the bag and created a flat base so that the bag can stand on its own.

4 Flexible Milk Pitcher
In place of the hard plastic that characterizes the commonly used milk pitcher, I designed a flexible alternative made from silicone. This variation better emphasizes the composition and morphology of the milk bag.

5 Milk Pitcher Groove
Ive added a groove in the plastic pitcher, which serves as a fastener to keep the milk bag sealed and fresh.

6 Rice Sack
A set of straps designed to attach to a rice sack, transforming it into a stylish backpack once the contents are emptied.
7 Legume package add-on
A reusable plastic funnel, which preserves legume freshness and allows for easy pouring in a package that is inherently difficult to open and reuse.

I created a small compartment into which the left-over soap bar can be compressed. This way, the soap can be used to its fullest. This design eliminates the annoying residual disintegrating clumps, which are often unusable.
